This course examines the research literature on LIS education, with a critical focus on the influence of technology, economics, and globalization on persisting tensions between information science and librarianship; generalization and specialization; undergraduate and graduate programs; disciplinary and professional identity; theory-based and practice-oriented curriculum; distance and f2f delivery, and attitudes toward accreditation.
