COM 5426: Media, Culture & The Environment

This course examines the role of language and representation in our understanding of the natural world. This course also examines news media coverage of environmental issues, environmental images in popular culture, as well as the communication strategies of environmental organizations. For a critical analysis of an organic food product, I wrote a paper on the Rogers Family Company product, The Whole Bean Rainforest Blend.

My final paper was a literature review exploring technology, social and citizen-generated media through a Foucauldian lens.
