Welcome to my blog!
Hi! I'm Casey Yu and I'm a second year doctoral student in Information Studies at Florida State University's School of Library & Information Studies - Florida's iSchool. I have a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology, College Student Personnel Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, both from James Madison University. I spent about ten years working at universities across the country in a variety of roles in residential and community living.
My research interests are in the use of documentary photography in political and social movements. In my other professional life, I am a lifestyle portrait and wedding photographer, with strong focus on photojournalism, and in a former professional life, I was (and am) an ally and educator for social justice and equity.
Also, I have two kids, Matthew & Lindsey, who are goofballs and punks. True facts.
